Storing chilled and frozen products

We store chilled products and frozen products on more than 45.000 pallets in our Frozen Food Centres in Bocholt and Everswinkel near Münster, Westfalia. All in all, we work with more than 600.000 pallets annually. Temperature controlled foods have their place here: raw products for the food industry - from meat and fish to juices, concentrates to fruit and vegetables or manufactured goods for trade, from ice cream and fish fingers or bakery products, meat products and assorted vegetables to various convenience products and pizza.

Within the framework of quality control, every pallet is checked on the delivery of all goods,. We register all relevant details such as the name of the article, the quantity, MHD, charge and so on from every pallet by scanning the pallet label, or by producing a label according to EAN 128. As a matter of principle, our customers decide which article or product data should be registered by us. The NVE (the number of the despatch unit) is the basis for the administration of all stored article data in our IT system. In this way, we are able to ensure complete traceability from the accepting of goods up to their place of delivery.

All processes of storing and removal from storage are carried out according to standardised procedures; the application of modern technology and iT enable us to react in a flexible way to our customers' needs. We are able to create bills of delivery with our customers' logo, or produce storage lists according to individual requirements. Our highly motivated personnel are always willing to help. The complete handling of frozen products, the loading and unloading of containers, the packing of cartons or sacks on pallets, the moving of pallets or the labelling of cartons is carried out on cooled ramps, so that adherence to the cool chain is guaranteed at all times. Storage takes place in a chaotic manner in mobile racking or drive-in racking according to the product or article group. The fact that we are able to directly access any and every pallet means we are able to operate at high speed. In the whole storage area, we work without paper documents. Every pallet is registered and entered directly via a terminal on the fork-lift truck; this represents security.
